Ruby and Hannah

Ruby and Hannah separated by only six short weeks, but joined together forever as cousins who dress alike! Thank you Auntie Monica for sending the girls these matching outfits- what fun!

Four Years Ago

This past weekend we celebrated Everett's 4th birthday with a party at the National Zoo. We had family come in for the big party and of course lots of friends attended as well. It was such fun to see Everett so excited for his party and on getting older. When I expressed my sadness in him getting older while putting him to bed, he hugged me and said "mommy, don't be sad, I will always be your baby." This melted my heart. I am so amazed at what a loving, kind and generous little boy he is becoming. Ben and I always say "Everett has such a good heart." I am so proud of him and am so proud to be his mommy. I wish I could keep him little forever, but as I know that is not realistic I will be glad that I get to have him in my life for a short while. Pretty soon Ben and I will not be the most important people in his life, but he will always be the most important person in mine.

Four Months Old!!

Miss Ruby had her 4 month appointment on Tuesday of this week and she is growing like a weed! Her head and weight (14 lbs, 6 oz) put in the 75% and her height (16 and 1/2 inches) in the 90%! A big girl, just like her brothers. She also started on rice ceral this week, which we quickly learned she does not like. I was concerned she was just not ready for food, however, at the suggestion of our doctor, we gave her bananas last night for the first time and she could NOT get it off the spoon fast enough. She continues to make us smile each day and we love her more every minute it seems. Here is a picture of her trying her rice ceral for the first time.

Happy New Year!

This year we celebrated by having our dear friends, the Taylors, over for a night of fun. We got the boys in their pjs, ordered pizza, watched a movie and had a great low key night. Here are some pictures of our fun new years.

Christmas Season 2011

We had a busy Christmas holiday. We did a bunch of holiday fun things, including a trip to the B&O Railroad museum, ICE at the Gaylord, the Festival of Lights at Bull Run, breakfast with Santa in Old Town Alexandria and several trips to visit Santa at the mall. The boys are the perfect age for all things Christmas and it was such fun seeing their eyes light up at the mere mention of Santa and watching Christmas shows on cold nights. This was also the first year we spent Christmas "alone" without any extended family, which was actually nicer than we thought. It was very relaxing and we got to spend lots of down time just enjoying the kids. Here are some pictures of our holiday fun!

Holidays 2011

Wow, time has gone by so fast these past few months. We started off our holiday season by having a wonderful few days in Pittsburgh visiting Matt and Emily as they hosted their first Thanksgiving. We had fun visiting with family, including my parents and the Cupps and then exploring around Pittsburgh and eating my all time favorite popcorn-Pittsburgh Popcorn! Ruby had a wonderful first holiday and the boys loved their turkey. Here is a photo of Ruby and Pap Pap on her first Thanksgiving and Brock and Ruby playing together!
