Rollin- Five Months

Here is a picture of our little man, Rollin! Hard to believe he will be six months next month. He is such a good little baby- he is becoming so interactive lately, has the strongest grip we have ever felt and is constantly staring and smiling at his brother. We cannot wait for them to be able to play together. Here is a picture of our lover dover.

Ice World!

This past weekend we were looking for something fun to do on Sunday after nap and we decided to venture down to the Gaylord Convention Center that is fairly new on the Potomac River. We have seen it many times from the highway, but have never stopped. It is a beautiful complex! There are tons of restaurants and shops and the Gaylord Hotel is really nice. When we were looking at all the Christmas decorations, we stumbled upon Ice World, a new exhibit that just opened up. Since it was 9 degrees inside the exhibit, Ben and Rollin waited for us in the sports bar and Everett and I went to explore. We had a great time, Everett loved the big parka they gave him (the smallest size they had!) and we went down ice slides and had such a fun time looking at the beautiful ice scupltures. Here are some pictures of our adventure.

Watching Football with Daddy!

Membership Has Its Privileges

Many people do not know, but D.C. actually has a acquarium- the National Acquarium. It is very small and at the basement of the Commerce Building, but actually is the perfect size for our little men. We joined since we go often enough and this morning from 8-9 they had a membership event for kids to meet Sponge Bob Squarepants. Well, it was actually pretty sad in that there were only four other kids at the entire event. But that did not stop us from having a great time- the acquarium had breakfast all set up, a craft table for coloring and of course Sponge Bob himself. Here is a funny picture of us at the event. The boys loved it!

Pizza Friday

Ben is big on wanting to establish traditions with the boys, so we have officially instituted Pizza Friday. We started this summer by each Friday night having Ben meet us at the pool after work and ordering a large pepperoni pizza to eat poolside. We have continued this tradition through the fall and it is something Everett really looks forward to. Each Friday I say guess what tonight it- Pizza Friday- and he says "yum!" Here are some pictures of the boys enjoying pizza this past Friday.

National Arboretum Family 5k

I am always keeping an eye out for family fun things to do around the DC area and last weekend we were at the National Arboretum hiking and I saw a flyer for a family 5k supporting Girls on the Run- a nonprofit organization for middle school aged girls to get them involved in sports and build self-esteem- a worthy cause, no doubt. So I signed up Ben and myself and thought the boys would love being part of the race too. So we packed up the double BOB and headed out this morning in the pouring ran to do the 5k. Although the weather was horrible, we still had a great time, got to see amazing fall foliage and supported a good cause. Everett kept himself amused with all the other runners and Rollin just snoozed the race away. We had a great time! Here are some pictures of the boys first family running race, and hopefully more to come in the following years.
